HOW TO SAVE A SPARTAN PICTURE USING SNAPSHOT

From a UNIX shell type: snapshot

A small box will appear. Prepare the shot you wish to take, and then click

on this box.

When you click and hold down the mouse button, a rectangular region will

open up between the box and where you move the pointer. Use this to

completely surround the area you wish to include in your screen shot.

Once you let go of the mouse button, you can click on the upper left corner

of the region to adjust the left/top border.

Right click on the small snapshot box to save and exit. The file is

automatically saved as "snap.rgb" in the directory from which you started

the snapshot program.

To save the screen shot as a .jpg, from a UNIX shell, go to the directory in

which the snap.rgb file exists and type: xv

A larger window with a fish in it will appear. Right click on this to open

the xv menu.

Click open, and select the snap.rgb file. This will open the screen shot

you took.

If it came out the way you want it, and wish to make it a .jpg file, click

"save as" on the xv menu, and select file type "jpeg".

If any dialog boxes come up asking for resolution or what not, just say ok

to the defaults. You may want to give the file a more meaningful name than

snap.jpg.

Exit out of xv and enjoy your new .jpg image!
