Describe your duties and what you would like to accomplish:
As President of this great organization I believe that the work we've been elected to do is ongoing and continuously challenging. The daunting task of helping such a dynamic and diverse body of students is a challenge the Senate loves to take on every year. I honestly feel that my goal is to go all out for every undergraduate student in hopes of making their time at NJIT the most positive and enjoyable experience in their lives. We look to continue the tradition of bringing the students amazing programming with awesome prizes. This year we also hope to continue lobbying for the Gateway Plan and a few other projects that will continue proving NJIT as a national leader in both academics and research. Intramurals will be back and bigger than ever and Senate will also strive to improve Highlander Spirit amongst the student body through various initiatives running all year long. We hope more students can engage themselves in everything Senate has to offer throughout the year and we'll guarantee they wont be disappointed!
My duties are as follows:
-Preside over all meetings of the Student Senate.
-Enforce the Constitution and the Standing Rules.
-Serve as chairperson of the Elections Committee.
-Serve as chairperson of the Judicial Review Committee.
-Serve as ex-officio member of all Senate Committees.
-Serve on Institute Academic Affairs Committee.
-Serve on the Student Activities Budget Review Board.
-Serve as co-chairperson of the Student Organization Space Allocation Committee.
-Chair the Senate organization Workshops.
-Meet with the University President at least once a semester.
-Prepare and deliver a State of the Student Report to the student body in November and March through an article in the Vector, speech or press conference.
