Purpose Statement

In response to God's love, grace and truth:
The purpose of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA is
to establish and advance at colleges and universities
witnessing communities of students and faculty
who follow Jesus as Savior and Lord:
growing in love for God,
God's Word,
God's people of every ethnicity and culture
and God's purposes in the world.

Doctrinal Basis

The Doctrinal Basis of the Fellowship, is the basic Biblical truths of Christianity, including:

1. The unique Divine inspiration, entire trustworthiness and authority of the Bible.
   
2. The Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ.
   
3. The necessity and efficacy of the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ for the redemption of the world, and the historic fact of His bodily resurrection.
   
4. The presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the work of regeneration.
   
5. The expectation of the personal return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

A Personal Note

Dear Friend,

I want to take this opportunity to introduce you to the local chapter of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. We are an inter-denominational Christian community on campus whose purpose is to

• students and faculty transformed, campuses renewed and world changers developed. We want to make our campus a better place.
  
• To accomplish these goals, we have various activities and events throughout the school year. These activities include monthly community service projects to the homeless of Downtown Newark, weekly prayer meeting, weekly worship gatherings, concerts, and small groups around campus. These events are open to the general public and are attended by students, faculty, and staff from NJIT, Rutgers, and Essex County College.
