Underground Infrastructure Initiative

Dr. Meegoda joined with two other faculty members to initiate the Underground Infrastructure Research Initiative at NJIT. This research is a logical continuation of his MS and doctoral research at University of California. Currently he is conducting a study entitled research, development, demonstration and validation of intelligent systems for conveyance and storage infrastructure under the sponsorship of U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Army Industrial Ecology Center. Based on that research he developed spin-off project titled "A Composite Smart Pipe based on Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy Technology for Drinking water and Wastewater Distribution Systems". Dr. Meegoda recently submitted a proposal entitled "A Composite Pipe for Drinking Water Distribution Systems" to National Science Foundation.
