The concept of a linear relationship between variable can be investigated by looking at the number of movie goers which watched a James Bond movie. If the number of people attending a the movie is plotted as a function of the number of weeks it is shown a linear relationship is apparent. That is the number of people attending the movie is about the same each week so the total number of attendees increases the same amount each week.
How can this information be stored in a more compressed fashion?
