Clearly there is an increase in the number of manatee deaths as the number of motor boat registrations increase. It can be postulated that an increase in the number of motorboat registrations indicate that there is an increase in the number of motor boats and the addition motor boats cause more manatee death.
It can be said that this data shows a positive association. The correlation between these two variables can be determined mathematically to give a more accurate determination. Also, the best straight line of a linear fit to this data can be determined and the results analyzed. These analysis technique will be discussed later. For now we can only assert that there is a positive association in this graph.
