The slope of his growth curve, when compared to the average growth curves, does not indicate anything unusual. It was decided that hormone treatment would not change Jason’s final height and no treatment was recommended.
Data, such as height information, by itself is often not very useful. A single measurement of a result can vary over a wide range depending on the nature of the object measured and the apparatus used to measure it.
All measurements have some degree of inaccuracy. This uncertainty is usually present in the last digit reported. If a large number of measurements are taken, the results should follow a normal distribution. All analysis should be done with this in mind.
The examples give here are typical of data collected experimentally.
