Sign of Four So far only 48 of the 60 stories can be made available due to copyright laws. According to the Sherlockian Holmepage ( http:// watserv1.uwaterloo.ca/~credmond/sh.html ):
The Sherlock Holmes "canon" consists of 60 stories -- 56 short stories and four novels -- by Arthur Conan Doyle. They were first published between 1887 and 1927. In the United Kingdom and Canada, the stories are now out of copyright. In the United States, the last dozen of them, those published after 1919, are still protected by copyright.
Thus to abide by the copyright laws the last 12 stories cannot be put on the internet as of yet. As soon as the matter is resolved they will also be included in this collection. Enjoy the rest till then.
I have pulled some of these stories from the Internet and used a word-processor on them to vary their format. So if anyone finds any errors please let me know. Thanks!
