We are a new generation of African students at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. We are accomplishing great things to change the stereotypical perspectives of the African people. Therefore, we strongly urge that not only students of African descent become part of the organization but, all other students with genuine interest for the common goals of humanity. As an African proverbs states, "We are one people, bond together as one nation, in one love and one destiny. Divided we fall united we stand strong." On a campus as culturally and ethnically diverse as our campus, our organization helps to fulfill a need we all have to feel a sense of belonging, thus making it possible for students of African descent to be united. Not only do we provide a haven for the increasing number of undergraduate and graduate students from Mother Africa but also we benefit the community as a whole by educating the student body, faculty and staff and the general public about the African culture. Among our many objectives are to address the academic, economic, political and social concerns of African students. In addition, we seek to find a common ground for all students of African descent. Your dedicated involvement with our organization offers invaluable opportunity to meet new acquaintances, forge new friendships, develop and enhance leadership skills. To broaden your cultural horizons, come join us. |
